Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS)

  • The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) implemented with effect from 1st April 2021.
  • The Scheme aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialization.
  • The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) has been approved for the period of 4 years starting from 2021-22.
  • As per provisions under SISFS, the Government has constituted an Experts Advisory Committee (EAC) which is responsible for the overall execution and monitoring of the SISFS.
  • The EAC evaluates and selects incubators for funds under the Scheme.
  • These incubators thereon select the startups based on certain parameters outlined in Scheme guidelines.
  • 126 incubators have been approved and these incubators have selected 656 startups under the Scheme as on 30th November 2022.

AERO INDIA 2023

  • The 14th edition of ‘Aero India 2023’ will be held at Air Force Station, Yelahanka, Bengaluru (Karnataka) from 13 to 17 February 2023.
  • The five-day event will combine a major trade exhibition of the aerospace and defence industries as well as aerial display by IAF.
  • Besides global leaders and big investors in aerospace industry, the show will also see participation by think-tanks from across the world.
  • Aero India will provide a unique opportunity for exchange of information, ideas and new developments in the aviation industry.
  • In addition to giving a fillip to the domestic aviation industry it would further the cause of Make in India.
  • Delegates from over 55 countries and more than 540 exhibitors had participated in Aero India 2021.

Amendment in Information Technology Rules

  • Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by the Information Technology Act, 2000, has notified the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules, 2022.
  • These rules cast specific obligation on intermediaries vis-à-vis what kind of information is to be hosted, displayed, uploaded, published, transmitted, stored or shared.
  • Intermediaries are also required to remove any content violative of any law for the time being in force as and when brought to their knowledge either through a court order or through a notice by appropriate government or its authorised agency.
  • Further, the amended rules also provide for the establishment of Grievance Appellate Committee(s) to allow users to appeal against the inaction of or decisions taken by Grievance Officers of intermediaries on user complaints.
  • In case of failure to follow diligence as provided in the said rules, by intermediaries, they shall lose their exemption from liability under section 79 of the IT Act and shall be liable for consequential action as provided in such law.
