Overview of the 100 Microsites Project:
- The initiative aims to boost the adoption of digital health practices, enhancing healthcare accessibility, particularly in the private sector.
- Within the ABDM framework, a Microsite represents a cluster of small and medium-scale healthcare establishments, including clinics, nursing homes, hospitals (preferably with fewer than 10 beds), labs, pharmacies, and other facilities. These Microsites are equipped with ABDM-enabled digital health services.
- As of now, 29 microsites are operational under ABDM, spanning ten states and Union Territories. The inaugural microsite was established in Mumbai in October 2022.
- Microsites address various challenges associated with ABDM adoption, particularly for private healthcare providers.
Types of Facilities Covered by a Microsite:
- Private healthcare facilities, including standalone clinics, polyclinics, nursing homes, small hospitals (preferably with fewer than 10 beds), labs, pharmacies, and any other healthcare establishments generating health records.
- Incorporation of health facilities and professionals from all systems of medicine is emphasized.
Two Categories of Microsites:
- Category A Microsite: Comprises a minimum of 1000 facilities, encompassing all types of health establishments mentioned above.
- Category B Microsite: Encompasses a minimum of 500 facilities but fewer than 1000, covering all specified health facilities.
